Cayucos...

We headed up north to Cayucos for the weekend to hang out with Ryan/Anne/Sullivan and Eric/Colleen/Iris/Oliver.  The Jenssesn's and the Camarillo Woodward's rented a beach house for a month and this weekend it was empty - so we headed up and took over.  We had fun playing on the beach, going to the aquarium and seeing the sea-otters.

A little macro fun...

I rented a macro lens today and had a little fun on my lunch break.  I think this is one of many lenses I 'need'!

11 Months old...

I can't believe Aidan is already 11 months old - he will be 1 in just a month.  Crazy!

Easter...

We had a fabulous Easter - celebrating at Brett's parent's house.  Ryan/Anne Marie/Sullivan and Blue all came down and the boys had so much fun together.  We had a little Easter egg hunt - although we were the ones that did most of the hunting.  We even had one of the neighbors come by to snap a photo of everyone.  Blue was not in the mood to be a part of the family!

Day 90 - I'm waving the white flag...

Okay - so I didn't even make it 90 days.  I am finding that with work and wanting to actually spend time with my family - instead of just taking their picture - the project 365 has become too much.  I am finding that instead of enjoying taking a new photo it has become a stress point.  I still think that I need to practice - but I am instead going to switch to once a week.  I think this way I can really put my time and energy into my photos.  So from now on I will post on Sunday a few of my favorite photos from the week.  Here's one to tide you over until Sunday.

Day 89 - 10 months old...

Today Aidan is 10 months old - I can't believe how fast the time has flown by.  He is turning into a little boy.

Day 88 - Dramatic B&W at I Heart Faces...

Today we took Aidan out on the boat for the first time - just a cruise around the harbor.  He hates his lifejacket - but he was so mesmerized by everything to see that he just stood at the side of the boat taking it all in and didn't even realize he was wearing the lifejacket.

Day 84 - Poor Man's Macro...

I don't have a macro lens - but if you take off a regular prime lens and turn it around the other way and just hold it you can get some macro shots.  Here is my attempt today...

They are both of the buds/flowers on our lime tree.  I still need a ton of practice as they aren't in focus - I don't think I can hand hold that close - but I had fun trying.

Day 81 - Wild Animal Park...

We bought passes to the San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park and decided to head out to the Wild Animal Park today since neither of us had ever been there.  Aidan had fun petting deer and just checking everything out.

Day 78 - I Heart Faces Constructive Feedback...

Today I'm posting a photo for some constructive feedback from a great website I Heart Faces:







This is a photo that I took of my two boys at sunset at the beach. I was going for a silhouette and I like my edit but still have so much to learn. I would also like to know how I could have received better results straight out of camera. Here is the original:

I am loving that it is now light out when I get home from work now.  Tonight I dragged Aidan and his chair out back to snap a few photos.

I bought Aidan the cutest hat the other day but he does not like hats anymore.  I was able to get a couple before he tore it off though.

We have a sick baby.  Aidan has had little colds here and there but nothing major.  Today his eyes were all gross and red so I took him to the doctor.  Turns out he has pink eye, a sinus infection and an ear infection. He went to bed early - so here is a shot of his meds.
